Operating Principle of the Seghers fluid Clean

The SEGHERSfluid Clean contains silica sand. The sand particles are brought to a bubbling state by injecting air from the bottom. The reactor is directly heated by a 'flame-shield' at the top of the reactor surfade, until normal operating temperatures Zca. 420 to 480C) are reached. The bed temperature can be adjusted using an automatid temperature regulator which controls the gas flow. The parts to be cleaned are loaded in a basket. The basket is submerged by means of a hoisting system into and the cleaning cycle begins.

During the process, the parts are heated up quickly and even white the contamination is removed. This helps avoid distortion which therefor allows re-use of the parts.

At the end of the cycle (typically one hour), the basket containing the cleaned parts is removed from the reactor using the hoisting system.

Depending on the application, the cleaned parts can be post-treated by brushing, rinsing, water-jetting, etc.
